HOW I SPLIT EMBROIDERY FLOSS
To separate the thread into individual strands or in this case 2 sets of 3 threads, open up the thread at the top, separate in to 2 equal sets of 3 strands of fiber.
Slowly pull the 2 ends apart in separate directions. Pull slowly so that the part that’s still together can twist. I usually like to cut 22"/55cm length of thread so that the thread does not tangle while working on the pattern.
If you cut a to long of a piece i found that the thread will tangle while your stitching. Sometimes the thread doesn't separate easily. Try to turn the thread which is still together more open then it will separate more easily.
