HOW I TRANSFER PATTERNS ON FABRIC

I use a light box and heat erasable pen from Frixion. When I transfer onto dark fabric I use a Bohin transfer pen. To get straight lines I use a geometric triangle. If you don't have a light box or a tablet/iPad, holding the fabric and paper against a window could work as well. I always pin my printed pattern and fabric together to make sure it doesn't move.

There are lots of different pens/ products on the market for transferring your pattern on to fabric.

  • Water soluble pens
  • Carbon paper
  • Water soluble stabilizer
  • Iron on pens or paper
